This article, structured through the premises of research in art, anchored by the methodology and philosophy of Visual Poetics, seeks to build a reflection on the process of creation of this artist / researcher around the practice of painting. Practical production, in this case, feeds theoretical reflection and creates a two-way path, where the role of the artist / researcher is activated and put into practice. It starts with a reflection around a section of the artistic production that started in 2014 and that remains in development until the present date, in which, the painting thought as an abstract space starts to raise questions about its structure and nature . And, with that, a certain principle of search for relationships with the concrete space of the world comes into existence and transforms pictorial actions practiced. The concept of flânerie, proposed by Charles Baudelaire, and reconfigured by Walter Benjamin (1994), is echoed, in order to enhance a desire to search in the concrete space of the world, elements that are collected or captured, through an extensive exercise of looking and select, and that would go through this route to compose the internal structure of the pictorial plans. With this, we seek to reflect on artistic practice through the perspective of academic research, in order to enhance the process of creation as a vehicle for forming knowledge and reflection.
