This work constitutes itself as a part of a wider investigation that discusses aesthetic-political activism and the role of music in the forms of expression of the struggles for equality. In this sense, this article discusses the relationships between music and aesthetic-political activism, from a look of the singular paths of two women who are activists and musicians. Thus, we seek to understand the nature of the processes, the meanings and representations existing in the paths taken, in order to reflect on the extent to which music influences the processes of social emancipation and on which configurations of aesthetic-political activism are permeated by diverse identity processes. This is a case study, with a qualitative approach, based on the experiences of two Brazilian women artists, from the theoretical-methodological perspective of life stories. The results show us that the path of the interviewees has been marked by various forms and dynamics of subversion and resistance that are inscribed within an unequal context of the Global South, where inequalities and the structural domination of masculinity and patriarchy tend to prevail.
