The present text is the result of an internship experience developed at the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora on linguistic analysis at school and the teaching of Grammar in Elementary School classrooms. In this sense, in order for the objectives to be met, the notions about the emergence of Grammar were first observed, as in Suassuna (2020) and Geraldi (1984). In addition, throughout the text, it was noted the need to discuss the National Curricular Parameters (PCNs) as a mechanism for changing and inserting linguistic analysis in classrooms and the search for updating on the part of the teacher (TRAVAGLIA, 2004), as well as the issue of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and its effectiveness in relation to the teaching of Grammar. The results of the experience report relate to challenges for grammar teaching in a productive and reflective perspective, in addition to encouraging the continuing education of teachers, given the experiences observed in the supervised internship. Therefore, the objective of this work was not to create a judgment/criticism of the internship classes that were observed, but to think and reflect on the teaching of Portuguese during and after the publication of the BNCC.
