The purpose of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) is to guide teachers, coordinators and supervisors of schools in the development of activities, projects and discussions on different topics. They are responsible for covering issues related to training in basic school. However, the absence of themes such as body, gender, sexuality and sexual orientation has been evidenced, which is something contradictory, since the purpose of the document is to assist in the teaching and learning process. If we perceive this space as a place where debate and reflection should take place. This is the motto of the discussion, which is supported by the post-structuralist perspective and, based on discourse analysis, it is proposed to listen to students of a degree in Biology at a public university, on how they perceive the urgency of this debate and its role in the social formation of the future teacher and student at school.
