Abstract

Using rhetorical analysis, this article, in making a tribute to Paulo Freire, for your centenary, argues that the argumentative structure of the book The importance of the act of reading: in three articles that complement each other, when it defends a critical, liberating education and a just, egalitarian society, without explorers or exploited, is sustained in the metaphor REVOLUTION. This metaphor defines the following: "Studying is a revolutionary duty!". Starting from this metaphor, this article shows how it, at the time that "puts before our eyes" the moral commitment of the study with social transformation, also has the power to create realities and formative experiences in favor of a pedagogical practice that is political and revolutionary.
