Abstract

This article aims to analyze how people who have polyamorous heterosexual relationships deal
with their sexuality in terms of orientation and identity, in addition to perceiving transformations, resigni
fications and convergences between hegemonic and other marginalized sexualities. The analyzes are based
on in-depth interviews conducted in Belo Horizonte with eight women and six men cisgender. Polyamory is
based on the possibility of establishing multiple affective-sexual relationships at the same time with the con
sent of all the people involved. It is observed that the people interviewed question and reject fixed notions,
incorporating in their debates the queer criticism that such attributes are changeable, fluid and dynamic. In
the case of women, a simple curiosity to get involved with another woman can be enough to subvert or deny
heterosexuality, despite the predominance of relationships with men. Among them, the possibility of non-
-heterosexuality causes much more resistance and conflicts for the construction of their own identity, sexual
orientation and desires.
