Abstract

This review of Silvia Federici's work, "Reenchanting the World: Feminism and the Politics of the Commons" offers a synthesis of the book's main themes and contributions. The emphasis on the importance of the work for those seeking to understand feminism in a more comprehensive way stands out, considering the complex intersections between gender, class and race. Furthermore, the review presents the author's ideas about the injustices faced by women, highlighting the role of reproductive and affective work, as well as contemporary enclosures, highlighting how privatization threatens common resources. Consider also Federici's proposal for a policy of the commons as an alternative to the predominant model of privatization and commodification of resources. Her work challenges conventional conceptions of feminism and economic policy, offering critical insight into contemporary social, economic, and political dynamics. Therefore, this review aims to demonstrate the relevance and impact of the author's work, highlighting it as fundamental reading for those seeking a broader understanding of feminist issues.
