Cinquenta Anos de Memória Operacional: Teorias Atualizadas e Direções Futuras

A memória operacional é um dos temas mais importantes em psicologia cognitiva desde o clássico capítulo publicado por Baddeley e Hitch (1974), há 50 anos. Neste artigo, nós apresentamos três influentes modelos teóricos na literatura desde então: o modelo multicomponente, o modelo de compartilhamento de recursos baseado em tempo (TBRS), e o modelo de processos integrados. Nós explicamos o desenvolvimento dessas teorias e resumimos suas características quanto à estrutura e ao funcionamento da memória operacional. Um quadro comparativo entre as três teorias é proposto no final, junto a considerações sobre o avanço teórico no campo e direcionamentos para pesquisas futuras.
