Cincuenta años de memoria de trabajo: teorías actualizadas y direcciones futuras

La memoria de trabajo ha sido uno de los temas más importantes de la psicología cognitiva desde el capítulo clásico publicado por Baddeley y Hitch (1974) hace 50 años. En este trabajo presentamos tres modelos teóricos influyentes en la literatura desde entonces: el modelo multicomponente, el modelo de recursos compartidos en el tiempo (TBRS) y el modelo de procesos integrados. Explicamos el desarrollo de estas teorías y resumimos sus características en relación con la estructura y el funcionamiento de la memoria de trabajo. Al final se propone un marco comparativo entre las tres teorías, junto con consideraciones sobre el avance teórico en el campo y direcciones para futuras investigaciones.
