Abstract

Mindfulness seems to be a protective factor against depression. However, there is a positive association between openness to fantasy and depression. This paper aims to study the mediating effect of mindfulness on fantasy and depression. A total of 153 individuals aged between 18 and 65 years answered an electronic form. We conducted a mediation analysis between mindfulness facets, fantasy, and depression. The results suggest that fantasy is a predictor of depression, but the mindfulness trait, especially the non-judgment, mediates this relationship.
