This study focuses on the interrelation between childhood, loss and education through a worldly phenomenological look. We adopted the qualitative approach in our study, in which we conducted a phenomenological group with children between 11 and 12 years of a school in the Parnaiba City, Piauí. As a methodological resource, we use scenes from three children's animated films that present issues of loss and mourning in their plot. For the analysis of the emerged content, we opted for the worldly phenomenological method. The group presented itself as a fertile space for exchange of experiences, listening, welcoming and learning about the theme at school. The films have been configured as excellent facilitators to address the issue in the educational field.
