Abstract

This article presents the analysis of four text-images, part of the artistic project entitled Yolocaust, referring to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe or the Holocaust Memorial (Holocaust-Mahnmal). The four materialities taken as a corpus are by the artist Shahak Shapira, who resignifies photographs taken by tourists at the Holocaust Memorial and used in social media profiles. The objective is to show how effects of meanings are established on memory and forgetfulness. For this, we take as a theoretical basis the Discourse Analysis of the French line of the French philosopher Michel Pêcheux and the implementations developed by the Brazilian Eni Orlandi. The results obtained show that by reframing the images, the artist subject materializes the memory of the holocaust, of concentration camps, through the realization of the “Yolocaust” project, producing an effect of historical awareness by producing the materialization of the crossing between the intra and the interdiscourse.
