Abstract

This article presents the systematization and application of some concepts of the Theory of Language Argumentation (TAL), regarding the third moment of the theory: the Semantic Blocks. The corpus of the work is a publication called: "What does a teacher do?" (2018), posted on the Internet. The general objective is to describe and analyze the construction of meanings of the statements present in a Facebook post, based on the established argumentative relations. The theoretical support presents the contributions concerning the Theory of Language Argumentation and the Theory of Semantic Blocks (TBS), developed by Ducrot (1988, 2002) and Carel (2005). The research is carried out in a descriptive and bibliographical way, with a qualitative approach. The study is justified by the fact that the theory considers the whole of the statement and not its individuality, allowing the meaning to be constructed in the discourse itself and not in an extralinguistic way.
