Sia’s performance:
Ideological conflicts and verbivocovisuality

This paper intends to analyze the verbivocalvisual performance of the singer Sia in the television program The Ellen DeGeneres Show (2014) in what it concerns to the sociocultural valuations imbricated in the representation of this subject. From the Philosophy of Language of the B.M.V. Circle (Bakhtin, Medvedev, Voloshinov) the concepts of subject, ideology, dialogue and architectonic, as well as the notion of verbivocovisuality (PAULA, 2014) are used. The objective is to reflect on the ideological conflicts demarcated in the artist's performance as an affront to the entertainment industry and the objection of the woman's body. According to an analytical-descriptive methodology, one starts from the enunciative materialities for the discourse translinguistics aspects. It is expected, based on the discussion proposed, to point how are configured the ideological confrontation reflected and reproduced in Sia's performance and, thus, contribute to studies of the sociocultural construction of the subject in the Bakhtinian episteme.
