Dos deveres da guerra:
A visão de Cícero sobre a destruição de Corinto
Keywords:
Ancient Rome, Cicero, International RelationsAbstract
The objective of this article is to discuss the destruction of Corinth from the perspective of the offensive realist theory in international relations. Although the study is centered on two main authors, it will place special emphasis on Cicero's "De Officiis", which provides valuable insights into Roman motivations and intentions. The realist approach helps to understand the underlying reasons behind the Roman act, suggesting that the Romans acted to ensure the region's security in the face of a Greek threat. This theoretical focus contributes to the justification proposed in this study that the Romans acted strategically to secure their position against the challenges presented by the Greeks.
