Abstract

This study seeks to reconstruct the trajectory of the Scottish nutritionist John Boyd Orr  from  1942,  when  he  was  in  America on the  debates  about  the  creation  of  the Food  and Agriculture  Organization  of  the  United  Nations(FAO). It  is  tried  to  demonstrate  how  the history   of   this   intellectual   intertwines   with   that   of   the   destiny   of   an   era,   aiming   at understanding  and  making  visible  the  arrangements  of  a  new  food  culture  in  international diplomatic forums, above all, placing the hunger, public health and agriculture at the epicenter of post Second War economic reorganization.
