Hipertension profile in urban and rural populations in the state of Minas Gerais
Abstract
Introduction: The Arterial Hypertension (AH) is one of the main problems of public health now, for her high pevalence in the population and also for contributing for the establishment of cardiovascular diseases. Objective: To identify the users' of the program of control of Hypertension partner-demographic profile in urban and rural communities; to evaluate the prevalence of risk factors and quality of the treatment in those places. Material and Methods: The study was accomplished with 100 patient with hipertension, being 50 of the Basic Unit of Health (UBS) Nossa Senhora das Graças, urban area of Juiz de Fora, and 50 of the Comunidade do Carvão, rural area of Piedade do rio Grande. They were applied questionnaires to verify the adhesion degree to proposed therapeutics and knowledge on the pathology as well as you varied partner-demographic. The program was used Epi-Info version 6. Results and Discussion: In the urban area 54,7% of the patients were obese, while in the rural area this index was of 18%. In the rural area larger prevalence of family history was verified of there is (92,5% of those researched, against 44% in the urban area). In UBS Nossa Senhora das Graças there is prevalence of the black color (54%) in relation to the white (36%) and brown (10%), what doesn't happen in the Comunidade do Carvão, where 84% are white, 14% black and only 2% brown. The practice of physical exercises is made by 92% of the patients of the urban area, against 25% in the rural area. Through of those results it is evidenced different peculiarities, related so much to the ethnic composition as for the factors related to the urbanization. Conclusion: The control strategies of the there is suffer different influences depending on the attacked population. New studies should be addressed for best to elucidate the complex relationships between the researched factors and the effectiveness of the programs of public health.Downloads
