Bilingüismo e inteligencia cristalizada: diferencias cognitivas entre adultos monolingües y bilingües

La competencia lingüística en dos idiomas (bilingüismo) requiere que el individuo desarrolle habilidades cognitivas verbales superiores, que dentro del modelo de inteligencia CHC se incluyen bajo la amplia habilidad de Inteligencia Cristalizada (Gc). Son pocos los estudios en la literatura que exploran la relación entre ambas variables, vacío que el presente trabajo pretende llenar. Para verificar cómo se relacionan las puntuaciones en las tareas de inteligencia cristalizada con el bilingüismo, se utilizó la Escala de Comprensión Verbal WAIS-III, evaluando a 6 participantes monolingües y 16 bilingües. Se observó una ventaja significativa del grupo bilingüe en el desempeño general y específico del ICV.
