Characterization of the voices of users of a Psychosocial Care Center

This study aimed to describe the characteristics of the voices and the life experience of the voice listeners in a Psychosocial Care Centre. It’s a quantitative cross-sectional study. Questionnaires were used as a data collection tool. The analyses were carried out using the descriptions of the proportions in the Stata 11 program. The relationship between traumatic experiences and the beginning of voice hearing was highlighted. Among the 66 participants, 81% hear negative things; 60% receive orders from voices and more than half of the listeners do what they are told.
