This article presents the strategies adopted in the production of a multiformat digital guide, focusing on editorial and graphic design decisions aimed at promoting communicational accessibility within the context of the XXX. It is grounded on the assumption that, despite regulatory advances, significant barriers to information access still persist, particularly for people with disabilities and/or specific needs. This qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study employed a multimethod approach, including documentary research, focus groups, and co-creation dynamics, with the participation of a multidisciplinary team and representatives of the target audience. The process resulted in the development of a guide structured around thematic macro-categories and written in Plain Language. The graphic design was based on the principles of Inclusive Design and Universal Design, incorporating Assistive Technology resources, digital accessibility criteria, and versions in audio and Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). The development followed an iterative approach, with successive validations stages and the integration of features such as interactive PDF and hosting on web pages with multimedia content. The findings indicate that the articulation of simplified text, clear informational structure, and accessible graphic solutions contributes to reducing communicational barriers, expanding access to institutional information, and enhancing students’ use of university support services. This study provides theoretical and methodological contributions to the field of Design by detailing stages and decisions that are often overlooked in the literature on the production of accessible digital documents.
