Rococo Aphrodite: the image of sensitive love (The analysis of a painting in the Mariano Procopio Museum)

Resumen

This article proposes to analyse a paintig attributed to Fragonard which belongs to the Marlano Procopio Museum in Juiz de For, Beginning with the identification of the mythological theme – Aphrodite –, an understanding of the notion of love expressed therein, through the 18 century idea of Stanobinski regarding the invention of liberty, is sought.
