A pressuposição em manchete e a leitura crítica em foco

Abstract

In this article we discuss the use of presupposition in newspaper healines and consider the importance of studying this fenomenon for the formation of critical reader. In this sense, we present a classification of presupposition triggers in the main headlines on the front page of the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper referring to the first 30 days of the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to expand the possibilities of critical positioning before a text, considering their contexts and production tools, as it is an important requirement for the improvement of literacy practices in the school context. The results show that the types of pressupositions found are available in a continuum that varies in degree of implicitness.
