Abstract

This article discusses how the state has intervened in the fishing sector through public policies. For this we evidence a process of changes caused by environmental damages that provoked new production relations experienced by fishermen in the city of Guaíra / PR. In this sense, we problematize the capitalist expansion efforts, mediated by the State, at Federal and State levels, and the role of Itaipu in this context.
