The body of the black woman in the production of Nice Avanza

This article presents a discussion about the presence of the black woman's body in art and the space that was denied to her. Starting from the acting of the capixaba artist Nice Avanza, this research analyzes how the black woman appears represented in her paintings. Through a bibliographic review, it is proposed to contextualize the insertion of a black artist in the circuit of contemporary art in Espírito Santo and her way of portraying these bodies. The results reveal that the artist contributed to giving voice to black women through her circulation in the artistic environment and from the point of view of how she represents them in her productions.
