Abstract

This article has as objective to present aspects referring to the costumes and appearances of the inhabitants of the Curitiba Village during the XVIII century. Said Vila, in the mid-seventies, was marked by a period of economic prosperity. Livestock and tropeirismo, the main economic activities of the Village at the time, allowed the region to contact importante economic centers of Portuguese America. Due to this integration we hypothesized that the contact with other localities allowed for a greater circularity and diversity of objects. In this sense we intend to understand how these individuals dressed during the seven hundred and sought to understand what was the economic and symbolic importance of clothing. For this we will rely on post-mortem inventories, specifically on the material assets that made up these documents.
