Abstract

Alberto Torres and Andrés Molina Enríquez were two authors that, in the first decades of XX century, strengthened themselves in order to propose a self-knowledge of their respective national societies and, based on this, to elaborate a political project for the promotion of the development and the construction of a national unity through na effective action by the strong central power. This article analyses the existence of a current of authoritarian thought in Brazil and Mexico form the understanding and reflexion of the ideas of Alberto Torres and Andrés Molina Enríquez, that contested the establisher order and the adopted politics by the liberal oligarchical regimen in the two countries.
