Abstract

This research presents analyzes about the monitoring process carried out by the agents of the Department of Political and Social Order/DOPS of the state of Minas Gerais during the years of 1945 to 1964. Among the activities developed by the DOPS in this contexto are the attributions of monitoring the actions of the leftist movements, both in the capital and in the interior, in order to curb the advance of their actions. In this way, the police correspondence brings relevant information about the vision that the state represented in the figure of the repressor apparatus had about the members of the association and the work that they were developing. In addition, the data presented in the reports give us relevant indications about the structure, organization and work developed by the collectors during the course of the review.
