The importance of Think Tanks for the neoliberalism's dissemination in Brazil

Abstract

During the country's re-democratization process, some Brazilian right wing sectors started to gather forces around a new political and economic doctrine - the neoliberalism. It was disseminated, aside from other means, through a network of think tanks working inside the country and abroad. In this regard, this article will develop some considerations about the emergence and the purpose of such institutes, created to disseminate the neoliberalism worldwide. Following, the case of two Brazilian think tanks will be analyzed, regarding their role for the creation and dissemination of a neoliberal project for the country.
