The Search For Justice: The Association of Political Amnestied and Military Aircraft (Geuar) and the Struggle for Political Amnesty

Approved for over three decades, the Amnesty Law is seen as a mark in the process of Brazilian democratic transition. Signed, even though in authoritarian context, was seen as a victory –even if partial –for the society who claimed the end of the military regime. We must now think about the initial struggles waged in 1964 to get to the fights themselves for amnesty from the creation of the Movimento Feminino pela Anistia in 1975 and the creation of the Comitês Brasileiros de Anistia in 1978 -during the regime -and the actions proposed by the GEUAr since 1994. Based empirically on interviews with members of GEUAr, we seek to understand the process of building their memories about the events in the shutdown process of Aeronautics and their struggles for the Anistia Política .Downloads
