Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic caused important changes in the use of digital technologies and communication. It is necessary to better understand the practices of the population to fight the pandemic through the appropriation of information through social media. It is expected that this work corroborates the formulation of health education strategies in the ESF. The objective of this article is to identify the use and possibilities of digital communication in health in the context of the pandemic. This is a literature review guided by the question: “How has the use of digital communication in health been taking place in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic?”. Articles using the descriptors health communication, information dissemination and COVID-19 were included. The analysis of the studies raised three categories: The potential for disseminating and accessing information; Digital platforms and their dimensions; and Fake News and Infodemia - the inconvenience of digital misinformation. The impact of health information produced in digital media during the pandemic points to a transformation in the processes of health education and the relationship with information in the digital age.
