Resumo

Aiming to evaluate the influence of Elephant grass diets, with or without a concentrated ration in the community profile, inferring about the association and antagonism behaviors among rumen ciliates. Samples of rumen content were analysed in ten crossbred cows Holstein x Zebu fed Elephant grass with or without concentrate. Were presented the following community profile: B (53.3%), mixed AB (26.7%), A (13.3%) and O (6.7%). When the antagonistic and association behaviors were
analyzed, it was observed that Eudiplodinium maggii Fiorentini,1889 was detected in the absence of Polyplastron multivesiculatum Dogiel & Federowa, 1925 and in the presence of Epidinium sp. in 53.3% and 87.5% of the samples, respectively. Concentrate diets promoted the community O (50%), followed by B (40%) and A (10%). Under these conditions, the rumen ciliate populations were influenced by
the kind of diet, however, such variables did not interfere with the community profile.
