Abstract

Created by a group of actors who gained fame through videos on the internet in the 2010s, using humor, the tv show Por ahora (2013) targeted many aspects of machismo that are evident in modern western societies. To delve into the implications of the feminism present in Por ahora, the article analyzes the importance of the female characters Norma and Josefina. Using the concepts of liquid modernity (Zygmunt Bauman) and male domination (Pierre Bourdieu), the work assesses Norma’s workspace, the themes of marriage and motherhood present in work, and the cognitive issues that both protagonists must face to continue with their feminist values.
