Inglês: This paper discusses some issues regarding cognition and how it works. Two different approaches based on the computational theory of mind are presented. In the first one, representations are symbols and computations are formal rules that operate on symbols. The other one is based on neural networks, and the way the cells of the brain connect and communicate to one another
