Abstract

Inglês: In this work the concept of word is discussed as a lexical and as a structural unit and clarified by analyses of borderline cases of compounding and prefixation. The concept of compounding is discussed in the description of Brazilian Portuguese and the V+S process of compounding is analyzed in detail, in order to illustrate the structural aspects involved in the notion of compounding.
