Resumo

Inglês: In this research I analyze different argumentative structures in spoken Portuguese, based on spontaneous data produced in interview situations, in an attempt to identify a common schema for the genre. The corpus is a set of 64 argumentative texts defined as such based on the presence of conditional sentences. The results show that the study of argumentation ought to consider a prototypic structure, linked to universal cognitive processes, but the used structures demonstrate it is not static. Argumentative structures, are just as the alternate forms in the lowest level: they are variable phenomena depending systematically on the predictable contexts of use.
