Abstract

This essay will theoretically address the process of reconfiguring the tourist image. This has traditionally been studied from the perceived image (tourist) and/or as an emitted image, by the organizations that are responsible for the activity or the companies that work in the sector, in both cases through different graphic supports. In the last two decades through the creation and, later, massive use of social networks, a new actor has entered the game of generating images – the tourist / the traveler – providing a different vision. What problematizes the complex relationship between the private and the public at the level of representations and daily life/tourism. The question is raised in terms of reconfiguration, since it is understood that the changes operated in the creation of images contribute differently to the social imaginaries and within them to the tourist ones.
