Abstract

The interview with Doris Kosminsky, a leading figure in Data Visualization, aimed to present her trajectory in the field of design, linked to the development and consolidation of this area in Brazil. Aspects of her professional and academic training were discussed, as well as works that highlight the scientific and artistic dimensions of visualization. Through the discussion of her projects, exhibitions, publications, and the creation of the LabVis laboratory, it was possible to understand the conceptual foundations and motivations that guide her work, encouraging other designers to deepen their studies in this aspect of contemporary design.

Author Biography

Júlia Rabetti Giannella, Universidade Federal Fluminense

Júlia Giannella is a professor in the Department of Design and Technology and in the Postgraduate Program in Design at the Fluminense Federal University where she teaches courses in the areas of digital media, interaction design and computer graphics. She also coordinates the Lafda research group (Laboratory of Physical, Digital and Algorithmic Artifacts). Her research interests include Computer Graphics, Data Visualization, Information Design, Interaction Design, Digital Humanities, Cultural Heritage, and 3D Visualization.
