Abstract

In a worrying environmental scenario, nature is constantly deteriorating on a large scale caused by human action. In an attempt to act in the face of the present problem, art can be seen as a way to bring the subject closer to nature and reviving its importance in an existential balance, not only for the human being, but for all the units that make up nature. The aesthetic experience presents itself as one of the key points for encouraging environmental ethics. The aesthetic experience of nature and the aesthetic experience of art allow to develop a sensitivity and commitment that are broadly manifested in the multisensory perception of the subject. Combining these two aspects of the aesthetic experience, the work of art can function as an appeal capable of providing the awakening of an ethical act.
