Abstract

The article proposes a reflection on the essayistic literary work of Andy Warhol. Initially, I investigate the interaction of Warhol's speech with aspects of his visual work. Then, I analyze passages of the essays in which Warhol dismantles the traditional meanings of utopia and commodity fetishism. In the end, I argue that Andy Warhol's suspensive writing results in a critique of the normativity of political-cultural discourse about capitalism and mass culture
