Abstract

The visual essay features informal workers from the jeans manufacturing industry in a city in the hinterland of Pernambuco. The "tiradeiras de pelo", as they are known, are responsible for removing the leftover threads that remain on the garments after they have undergone the previous sewing process. The essay presents a narrative where the city is presented and during the essay, images of the "tiradeiras de pelo" are shown in several places in the city, especially in domestic environments, which are the most common places for the practice of this activity.
