Resumen

El artículo analiza cómo los ataques del 11 de septiembre representan un importante punto de inflexión en la historia del movimiento conservador estadounidense. La derecha estadounidense, que en las décadas de 1960 y 1970 encontró puntos de convergencia entre sus distintas corrientes, comenzó a fragmentarse con el fortalecimiento de los neoconservadores en la década de 1980. El artículo busca analizar cómo este proceso, que se ensayó antes del fin del Frío La guerra fue acelerada por la respuesta de George W. Bush a los ataques terroristas y permitió que fuerzas políticas como el populismo pasaran de los márgenes al centro del debate político.
