Abstract
This paper intends to propose a study on the prosecution for the crime and conspiracy and political action of the Court of Conspiracy in the late Old Regime in Portugal. We will do this by studying the Conspiracy of Sabará (Inconfidência de Sabará, 1775) and the Minas Conspiracy (Inconfidência Mineira, 1789), as well as the involvement of two auditors in these conflicts, respectively, José de Góes Ribeiro Lara de Morais and Tomás Antônio Gonzaga. The intention is not to conduct a study of the concept of conspiracy. Rather, the analysis will be restricted to the contextual analysis of the performance of the said court.
