Africa in the Italian Fascist and the Portuguese Authoritarian Regimes

Resumen

The article aims to examine the modalities of African colonization actuated during fascism and Salazar ́s Estado Novo. Particularly how in Africa, colonial exploitation was viewed in conformance with the varying requirements of rule: the conquest and formation of an Italian Empire by Mussolini, and the protection and preservation of the Portuguese Overseas Empire by Salazar.
