Abstract

This article presents a historiographical discussion on Digital History within the contexts of technological transformations that led to the emergence of digital culture between the last decades of the 20th century and the early decades of the 21st century. Drawing upon 11 texts from historians of different periods and contexts addressing the relationships between the discipline of history and technology, recurrences and continuities of themes will be examined, along with the theoretical and methodological implications and challenges imposed on historiographical practice by the popularization of digital technologies.
