Abstract

Research on slave families in Brazil has aroused from the beginning the usage of serial sources as a way of stressing its relevance to the slave-holding order. Many sources has been exploited in order to check the composition and stability of slave couples. Our intent is to discuss the results from these researches, on the basis of different kinds of sources.
