Abstract
This article seeks to understand the operation of businesses in the coffee complex from the impoverishment and discredit of Manoel Ferreira Martins Claudiano, major Claudiano, a prominent coffee producer of Patrocínio Paulista and Franca. This situation involves the bankruptcy of a Merchant House, the execution of the Farms Vainglory, Jaborandi and Emery (as well as urban property), the loss of ownership of produced bags of coffee, insolvency and locking of credit channels and financing (notably mortgage) in the coffee production crisis context.
