The architectural design of Aleijadinho - São Francisco de Assis Church in Ouro Preto

Abstract

This article consist on a study of the church of São Francisco de Assis at Ouro Preto, masterpiece of Aleijadinho. However it was already matter of many cager studies and rescarches the histography concerned is no general assent on his artistic skill. Also, the overwhelming difficult to conprehennd, on its total, his skill over spotlight of the european artistic patter. Attempts to define his knowledge on the barroque architecture, showing his effort to creat popular works which are product of brazilian colonial period.
