Abstract
The paper presents the political strategy of the Portuguese Extreme Right between the years 1976 and 1980. The aim is to understand how and why this political area failed to emphasize its presence through a solid party institutionalized during the years of the transition and consolidation of democracy. The analysis uses, as its primary source, the weekly A Rua [The Street]: the most demanding and militant voice of the Portuguese Extreme Right of the late ‘70s.
