Abstract
Between 1964-67 the armed resistance to the civil-military dictatorship in Brazil was carried out in the tradition of revolutionary nationalism. Despite the presence of Communists, the nationalist leadership tried
a different strategy from the one adopted by the Communists who continued the struggle. Despite having been roundly defeated, revolutionary nationalism ended up producing soldiers for the revolutionary struggle that began in 1968.
