Abstract

Populism: origins, the use and overuse and hegemony of aconcept (a term). The Sociological production from São Pauloand its role in the articulation of a broad political-academic front around "populism". Populism: damnation of an object. Reconstruction and exclusion: blind points of an insufficient theory. Critical analyses of the Estado Novo [New State] dictatorship and the recovery of laborism [trabalhismo] as a left current and national-Statism as an alternative proposal for modernity.
